Six Scholarships Given to LHS Seniors

During the Lyons High School Senior Farewell Assembly, six scholarships that are facilitated by the Rice County Community Foundation, were given out to five deserving seniors. The assembly was truly a testament to the LHS Class of 2021 and their accomplishments during a year that has proved to be extremely challenging.

Knight Family K-State Scholarship: $700/semester: The scholarship is awarded to an LHS senior planning to attend K-State, with special consideration for agricultural majors given. This scholarship is renewable for up to 8 semesters.

               2021 Recipient: Blake Seidel-Pinson 

Knight Family VoTech Scholarship: $700/semester: The scholarship is awarded to an LHS senior planning to attend vocational education. This scholarship is renewable for up to 4 semesters.

               2021 Recipient: Alex Melendez

LHS Class of 1961 Scholarship: $1,500 one-time: This scholarship is awarded to a LHS senior who demonstrates aspirational goals and a desire to achieve them.

               2021 Recipient: Blake Seidel-Pinson

Neil and Geri Crane Scholarship: $250/semester: The scholarship is awarded to an LHS senior who is planning to further their education at a Kansas institution. The scholarship was designed to honor Neil and Geri Crane. This scholarship is renewable for up to 8 semesters.

               2021 Recipient: Ian Foster

Roth Family K-State Scholarship: $500 one-time: The scholarship is awarded to an LHS senior planning to attend K-State, with special consideration for agricultural majors given. This scholarship is renewable for up to 8 semesters.

               2021 Recipient: Chase Keesling
